About Oregon Pano’s photographer, Ross WordhouseIn 1992 Ross Wordhouse jumped in his car and headed out to Oregon, leaving behind his roots in Plymouth, Michigan. He landed in Bend, Oregon where he found work as a freelance designer and film maker for the snowboard industry. Over the years he fell in love with the diversity and beauty of Oregon landscapes and wanted to share his passion with others.
He purchased an old Fuji G617 and over the course of six months he taught himself how to use it. And use it, he did. He’s traveled many of the backroads and trails around Central Oregon to capture its beauty and wonders. Enjoy his hard work and please consider purchasing a print so he can continue to pursue his passion.

The Fuji G617 is a one-trick pony camera, but its one-trick is one heck of a trick. There’s no light meter, no digital back, no autofocusing, no nothing. Just a lens, a manual timed shutter, and a box to keep the film dark. Yep, Ross still uses film, 120 medium format film to be exact. With this camera, you get four shots per roll of film, so it’s best to only shoot it when the subject is worth capturing. There have been many times where Ross wouldn’t take a shot after hours of driving and hiking. Some of the images on this site took him several years to capture. Persistence and dedication win the day.
